alsico Madagascar becomes first OEKO-TEX STeP certified facility in Madagascar
We are proud to announce that our production facility in Madagascar has achieved OEKO-TEX® STeP level 3 certification, making alsico Madagascar the first garment facility in the Indian Ocean region to reach this milestone.
Earning this certification is a key milestone in our journey to produce more responsibly. We have reduced energy consumption, invested in solar power, and taken concrete steps to minimise our environmental impact. Our facility has installed solar panels and battery systems to move toward energy independence, implemented energy-efficient sewing machines, and fully outfitted the factory with LED lighting.

shaping a responsible future together
This achievement aligns with our broader sustainability goals, including reducing emissions across our operations and supporting local communities through initiatives like providing recycled plastic furniture to local schools, our biodiversity programs, and a tree nursery in Madagascar.
We remain committed to maintaining and enhancing our performance across all OEKO-TEX® STeP modules, with a focus on continuous improvement in our environmental and quality management systems.
